The Last Sin Easter {Movie Review}

I saw a movie not too long ago that I really, really, really like. I almost missed seeing it.

Prejudices can be misleading. I saw the movie poster and the title of this movie and assumed it would be weird or hokey, or both. Boy was I wrong.

The Last Sin Eater (directed by Michael Landon Jr., based off the book by the same name) is actually a wonderful movie about an ancient Celtic practice and the search of one little girl to find forgiveness. It even sounds hokey, but it isn't. I don't know how I can convince you of this movies power and value with mere words. You absolutely must see this movie. Really.

It also meant more to me, retrospectively, because, while I'm not Welsh (the people group in the movie) I do have Irish and Scottish in me, and they have a history of the same practice. My ancestors, maybe your ancestors practiced what is shown in this movie. There's another reason this movie means a lot to me, but I don't want to say because it's kind of important to the story ;)

Young children shouldn't see this movie, in my opinion. So make sure your young'uns are in bed or away before putting it on, but middle-schoolish and above should be fine, maybe even a little younger. It really depends on the child.

Anyway, I absolutely loved The Last Sin Easter and now look forward to reading the book sometime and I cannot recommend this movie high enough... with no reservations.

3 out of 5 stars.

well, it does have a white man vs indian aspect to it, (how typical) but it is rather important for the story. I'll be quiet now and let you see the movie
